Eagle View Friday Plan

Parents:  We are please to announce that there will be in person learning on Fridays, but it may be a little different than you are used to.

1. Students will pick up the bus as they normally do Friday morning at the same time.
2. Students will be able to ear breakfast before school starts.
3. Classes start at 7:45 am and will be over at 9:45 am.
4. Your student will be arriving home much earlier than usual, since they LEAVE school at 9:45 am.
5. We will provide a boxed lunch before students leave for the day.

Timeline:

August 27/September 3: Students do not attend face-to-face. All students attend school virtually. This will give teachers/schools time to collaborate and devise a high quality plan.

September 10: Face-to-Face instruction begins

The last Friday (or first Friday) of each trimester: All students will attend school virtually. No face-to-face instruction

No students for Fridays on teacher learning days.

Weekly Process:

  • Grades will post activities for the upcoming Friday on their Canvas page for parents to access at least one week in advance.
  • Friday before 3:00 pm, teachers will send an email or Remind message to parents of students who need to attend in-person the next Friday.
  • Friday at 3:00 pm, a message will be sent via Remind for parents to complete a form to sign up for next Friday in-person learning. This is needed to prepare for activities, bussing, and meals. The form will ask for:
    • A commitment for Friday in-person learning
    • If the student will be riding the bus
    • If the student will eat school breakfast and/or lunch on Friday
  • Parents will only complete the form if they want to sign up for in-person Friday learning.
  • Foods, transportation, and teachers will have access to the sign up results.
  • Students who attend school in-person will be marked present for Friday. They will not be expected to complete additional work outside of the 2 hour block to be marked present.
  • Grades will focus on hands-on activities whenever possible.
  • Schools will support Friday hands-on learning in the budgets. (Schools will apply for district ESSER2 Funds to support this.)
  • Activities such as assemblies, reward activities and field day will be on Fridays.
  • All students will be invited to attend each Friday.
  • Those students who opt for virtual learning will complete the assigned Lexia and iReady assignments between Thursday at 3:30 and Sunday evening.
  • Teachers will mark Friday virtual attendance by checking assignment completion for iReady and Lexia on Monday morning.
  • USD will create an attendance code for virtual learning.
  • Teachers will not have designated office hours. Parents can communicate through email, Canvas, and the Remind app.
Parents: please make sure your teacher and the front office has an updated phone number and email to contact you!
