EVE Student Emotional Support Plan

Mental Health Resources in Uintah Basin

Social-Emotional
Guidance counselors are available for solution-focused, responsive services for students in crisis; however, it is not appropriate for counselors to provide long-term, individual counseling. Counselors must focus on group to school-wide needs; however, there are many programs and supports available to students and their families.

NCC
Students in need of consistent counseling services will benefit from our relationship with Northeastern Counseling Center. NCC staff are available weekly (through a grant) to serve individual student needs. Intake and assessment can be arranged through UMS Counseling department or NCC.

Save the Kids
Collin Kartchner supports our stake-holders by providing moving and motivational information about digital safety and digital citizenship. Check out SaveTheKids.us for more information.

Split Mount
Split Mountain Youth Center also serves our school community with intervention programs for students and families. Programs are available at the school or youth center.

Teen Outreach

Recognized by a variety of youth development organizations, TOP enables adults to harness and enable the spirit of the most vulnerable teens and change the way systems approach traditional development – from educational and adolescent health settings, to juvenile justice and child welfare.

TOP also has the power to change communities, thanks in part to TOP’s unique focus on reconnecting teens to their communities through transformational community service learning opportunities.

Northern Ute Tribal seal

Ute Tribe serves the education, health and other needs of tribal families and students in our area. Indian Health Services, Ute Family Services and the Ute Tribe Office of Education are all available as additional resources for tribal members.

UoUSafeUT
One of the most technologically savvy and immediately available services we offer is SafeUT. The SafeUT app and website coordinates with schools, law enforcement, and other local entities to provide support and interventions for students and families in crisis. Students and parents can report school issues like bullying, fighting, or vandalism; or, get immediate counseling through chat or voice call to assist with suicide, depression, or other issues. The SafeUT program is anonymous while still allowing students and parents to followup on tips and crisis intervention.

Behavioral
Administration and faculty work together to address repeatedly distracting or damaging behavior. Behavior Plans and Positive Behavioral Check-ins are effective for improving academic and social success, or for establishing a base for further intervention and response.

504 and IEP
EVE faculty and staff are committed to student success. Parents will be informed if staff believe that a student qualifies for 504 and IEP protection and services. These services are designed to assist students whom have a disability or other attributes that substantially limits performance. 504 services are appropriate for students that have qualifying disabilities which restrict access to standard curriculum. IEP services are appropriate for students that require modified or alternative curriculum.
Student participation in these programs requires often lengthy cooperation between parents, school officials, and possibly health professionals. Unless treatment criteria is otherwise previously established, students will be required to participate in interventions (such as those mentioned in previous sections) for some time before being evaluated for services. Please contact a guidance counselor or administrator if you would like to discuss student needs.
