The Utah Health Education Core Standards have undergone proposed revisions. Various stakeholders, including parents, teachers, specialists, faculty from higher education, and other community leaders have provided input toward making these revisions. Key recommended revisions include:
- An overall consistent and progressive organization of strands and standards resulting in alignment of K-6 Health, Middle School Health, High School Health.
- Focus on physical health, mental and emotional health, and social health within each strand.
- Approach standards from a positive perspective emphasizing critical thinking, conflict resolution, problem solving, and healthy behaviors.
- Consistent strand organization.
